Nave Tierra's Intentions 🌱

In our life we have 2 houses that our whole life will depend on : Our body and the Earth. On their health state depend our survival.

What are we? Where are we going?

Let’s inspire change together

Nave Tierra is a humanist documentary project carried out by Rodrigue and his 2 crewmates (Marisol and Jorge), which was born during the COVID health crisis in 2020, when half the world found itself in quarantine.

Since Eudaimon is a partner of Rod’s eco-nomadic project, where he explores and shares about alternative lifestyles, production and habitat, we decided to share with you about this project, which is entering into the dynamics of our association.

The project in a nutshell

Explanations of the project

Make a documentary inspiring a desirable future as well as develop and support local ecological and solidarity initiatives.

I am Ro D l’Economade, having arrived in Patagonia Argentina in January 2020 as part of an ecological nomadic trek in a backpack, COVID blocked me in the “Comarca Andina” (Municipality of the Andes), more exactly at El Bolson.

From hitchhiking, horseback riding, trekking, and more to come!

This forced break made me ask myself the following question: how can I have a local and global impact in such tumultuous times?

I discovered through volunteering and meetings that this region is renowned throughout Argentina and Latin America as the “Patagonian capital of bioconstruction”.

Month and a half volunteership during the COVID pandemic: Construction of an Earthship

In my search for meaning, I therefore took advantage of the global situation to meet locals working for a more sustainable world.

Along the way I met Marisol Sanabria (Argentina), then Jorge Uribe (Colombian) having the same desire as me: to document the actions of and see how their knowledge could contribute to the improvement of society in general (rural and urban) and share their inspiring visions to the world.

We embarked on an independent fiction-documentary meeting various local changemakers, invested in the permacultural philosophy, touching on different fields such as construction, agriculture, waste management, appropriate technologies and well-being.

Permaculture, a set of practices and a philosophy of life focusing on well-being

This documentary will be divided into 3 parts (De donde venimos?> Where do we come from?; Que somos?  > What are we?; A donde vamos? > Where are we going?) and will be in Spanish with subtitles in French and English.

I made a commitment to organize cleanwalks as a first step, thing done!

Picture of one of the first CleanWalks.

This gave birth to the citizen colective Mision Comarca Limpia with its 12 clenwalks actions, as well as the creation of 25 awareness signs, several waste containers as well as the 1st cooperative container of ecobricks.

Some of the initiatives we did with Mision Comarca Limpia

Finally, following the forest fires that devastated nearly 2,000 hectares of forests and 320 homes on March 13, 2021, I would like to donate 8% of our total objective to groups helping vulnerable families affected.

In 8 hours, 2000 hectares of forests were burned away.

These collectives are:

@bioreconstruimos: a group of bio-builders and volunteers helping to rebuild houses in an ecological and solidarity-based way by applying appropriate technologies (multifunction rocket fireplaces, adobe bricks, green roofs, solar collectors, etc.)

@cadacasaunarbol: an initiative helping forest reforestation by planting indigenous and fruit trees.

In these difficult and depressing times, we feel the need to express a path of hope: Hope for a healthier, more just and sustainable world. Move from a consumerist and extractivist world to a pragmatic and resilient world, a world where well-being and solidarity are kings.

Everyone can change for the better, you just have to accept to take the plunge and get out of your comfort zone.

For us, this documentary aims to approach these topics from the point of view of the people who chose to act.

Show that we can all come from a world that does not necessarily follow our values, and evolve to change it. See how some made their transition and what their advice is for people who want to follow their example.

We want to show that humanity can do better, in the general interest, for its own good and that of its children.

We are already on site and are a main team of 3 people:

Rodrigue Rabier (France): Producer, network coordinator, interviewer and sound engineer

Marisol Sanabria (Argentina): Producer, Artistic director and photography

Jorge Uribe (Colombia): Director and Post Production Director

Thanks to the first donations we were able to equip ourselves with equipment, as well as interviewing 8 people across the region (Lago Puelo, El Bolson, Mallin, Cerro Radal, El Hoyo, Gualjaina), with their own talents, origins and varied histories.

Professionalizing ourselves, and in order to ensure quality work, we are joined by an actress, a sound director taking care of the musical composition as well as several musicians, an animation director taking care of graphics, as well as a distribution manager.

In terms of mobility, we intended to do it initially by bicycle, for ecological reasons. However, the goal not achieved so far, the funds collected so far have been used in production and therefore, we had to use other solutions: Hitchhiking, bus.

Via social networks (Instagram and Facebook @ navetierra.docu) we share additional content (backstage, advanced, …) and will share short interviews via my young YouTube channel (Ro D l’Economade) as well as a YouTube channel dedicated to documentary.

Its distribution will be done in 3 stages:

– The first will be “previews” with the participants, donors and partners of the project (one in El Bolson, one in Orléans and one online),

– Participation for 1 to 2 years in festivals around the world (in Argentina, France, Spain, Colombia, …)

– And finally to achieve the final objective is to make the documentary publicly accessible on mainstream streaming platforms (such as ImagoTV, CuriosityStream, Netflix, etc.)
